Accessibility & Safety Rails: The side rails of the NEST bed can be lowered in a matter of seconds, ensuring immediate patient access during any emergency. They are equipped with a balanced descent system and a push-button release protected by a safety tab to prevent accidental opening. NEST can be configured with either transparent polycarbonate or aluminum slat side rails. The head and footboards feature a support structure with wide, rounded surfaces, integrated corner bumpers, and ergonomic push handles for easy maneuvering.
The release mechanism was specifically designed to prevent accidental activation by children, even those outside the bed. To lower the rail, it must be lifted slightly to engage a recessed button, which is further protected by a rotatable safety tab.
The simple, ergonomic, and edge-free shapes feature minimal dimensions to avoid hindering care and assistance operations. All external surfaces are smooth and rounded, with no footholds.
The upper edges of the rails and boards are also rounded, with minimal gaps between sliding and removable components. The polycarbonate panels of the head/footboards can be removed with a simple movement after releasing the external lock.
The braking system is equipped with four perimeter levers that control the castors in synchronization. The wheels offer three modes:
- Fully locked
- Free swivel
- Directional tracking for precise linear movement.
The new NEST pediatric bed is designed and manufactured in full compliance with the EN 50637 standard, catering to children between 75 and 125 cm in height. Its standout feature is total containment safety, provided by continuous transparent rails and boards that offer superior protection while allowing constant visual monitoring.
When at its maximum height, the sleep surface aligns with the upper edge of the side rail, facilitating the healthcare professional during patient transfer.
